Rosemount's smart transmitter is composed of a sensor and a microprocessor (microcomputer). It makes full use of the computing and storage capabilities of the microprocessor to process sensor data, including conditioning the measurement signal (such as Filtering, amplification, A/D conversion, etc.), data display, automatic correction and automatic compensation, etc. Among them, the microprocessor is the core of the intelligent transmitter. It can not only calculate, store and process the measurement data, but also adjust the sensor through the feedback loop. Because the microprocessor has various software and hardware functions, it can complete tasks that are difficult to complete with traditional transmitters.

Rosemount’s smart transmitters also have features and capabilities:

1. It has automatic compensation capability, and can automatically compensate for sensor nonlinearity, temperature drift, time drift, etc. through software. It can be self-diagnosed. After powering on, the sensor can be self-tested to check whether each part of the sensor is normal and make a judgment. Data processing is convenient and accurate, and data can be automatically processed according to internal programs, such as statistical processing, removal of abnormal values, etc.

2. With two-way communication function, the microprocessor can not only receive and process sensor data, but also feed information back to the sensor to adjust and control the measurement process. It can carry out information storage and memory, and can store the sensor's characteristic data, configuration information and compensation characteristics, etc.

3. It has a digital interface output function, which can easily connect the output digital signal to a computer or field bus.

(1) HART Revision 5 (HR5) or HART Revision 7 (HR7) must be specified.

(2) Materials of construction comply with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 environmental recommendations for sour oil site production. Certain materials have environmental restrictions. The materials selected also comply with NACE MR0103 for sour refining environments.

(3) Configure the HART output according to HART version 5. This device can be configured in the field according to HART version 7 if required.

(4) If you need to configure the button locally, you can select the configuration button (option code D4 or DZ).
